Yesterday I broke down and baited the mouse traps because I could hear them at night. Matthew had plugged up the hole in the floor in the utility closet with steel wool when he was out last Thursday, but since I’ve been sleeping in the living room, I knew there was one in the house.
Sure enough, last night a little before midnight, one of the traps underneath my desks went off. I put the little varmit in the garage to wait for sunrise so I can release him far away from the house (unless the last three releases during the snowy/cold weather).
Lo and behold, right around 3 a.m. a SECOND trap goes off by the fireplace. This one has also joined the one in the garage and I will be releasing them both in Papoose Park this morning. I didn’t expect a second one, but I did catch three in three days during the bad weather, I just figured it was the same one all three days.
There is still a possible entry point at my front door. I need to get some weather stripping to seal it up, but I haven’t found the kind that I want to use online yet. I may have to venture out to the local hardware store for assistance, but I’ll see if releasing these two ends the mouse activity for the time being.
My enumerated list from yesterday:
Whew! Makes me tired just looking at it. Luckily, after I run my errands this morning, today will be fairly “chill.” Hopefully, there will be no more mice interruptions of my sleep, and I can nap at leisure today.
Hope things are going well for Y’all. May you love the life you create for yourself. Namaste & ciao for now.
