Giving You My Mind, One Piece at a Time

Refocusing my Efforts

No enumerated list from yesterday. I didn’t run any errands either. I really do need to get out to mail a letter to Dad though, but was kind of waiting for the donut shop to reopen (tomorrow) before doing so. I dislike taking unnecessary trips.

I hooked up my new webcam to my computer yesterday for the Mastermind call. I still had it turned off for most of the call, but at least let people see me briefly (hey, it’s a start). So here we are, 2.5 weeks out from the contest deadline and I’ve decided to completely change the focus and direction of my submission. I’m crazy but inspired.

If I have learned anything about myself over the years, it is that if I hit some kind of self-imposed roadblock, it’s my higher self trying to tell me that I’m moving in the wrong direction. Even though I had planned out the course completely, it still didn’t feel “genuine” to me. I can’t explain what that is in detail, just that it didn’t feel right to me.

I decided to scrap the technical tutorial bits on Screencast-o-matic and take the focus off any particular set of tools and to refocus on why video is important to today’s small businesses, and how to find the right tools to help you make videos that you don’t have to be on camera for.

This is much more in alignment with my belief in non-interference. Even while training, I don’t like telling people what to do. How is fine, but by selecting the tool for viewers, my “how” becomes irrelevant to the conversation because I’ve already removed their other choices.

I can still create a “how to” later on, but it’s not something I would ever charge money for, it’s something I will share in my training community for free. Now all that is left is to start animating my *ss off to get this done in the next 2.5 weeks.

Speaking of which, it’s time to get my day started. May you love the life you create for yourself. Namaste & ciao for now.
